The Apple Watch Series Eleven Review: Superb Wrist Gestures and Improved Power Endurance

The surface features using glass that is significantly more durable compared to previous models, though not quite as tough as sapphire, that remains exclusive with the higher-end titanium models.

Capability and Runtime

The new watch utilizes equivalent S10 silicon as last year's model with new capability for 5G connectivity option and improved connectivity during situations when you're in the wilderness.

Power cells have increased in size by 9% and 11% for the 42mm and 46 millimeter models in that order.

Software Enhancements

This new model ships with watchOS 26, compatible with all models from 2020's Series 6 and later.

The feature operates without looking at the device to view the screen, meaning you can turn off alerts with a satisfying flick with your hand.

Health and Fitness Tracking

The wearable device includes the same comprehensive wellness tracking package of tools available in prior generations but adds several fresh capabilities and a redesigned workout app.

Blood pressure notifications monitor indicators of high blood pressure over a 30-day period, informing wearers to seek medical advice if your heart rate data suggests you may have undetected issues.

Updated sleep scoring improves sleep monitoring easier to interpret, comparable to rivals from Google, Samsung and others.

Each morning the watch shows a percentage score separated into components in three sections: sleep length, timing and disturbances, all being self-explanatory and accessible through the wellness application on your smartphone also.

Exercise companion is an AI coach employing your historical exercise information to deliver pep talks around exercise sessions, like detecting previous running sessions three times this week and the level of effort you demonstrated.

Additionally offering spoken alerts when you reach particular goals throughout activities, including certain tempo, pulse rate, distance, period or additional measurements.

Users can select from three speaking tones, which speak to you via wireless earbuds paired with the device for multiple workout categories, like strolling, sprinting or cycling.

But, this feature depends on if you also carry recent smartphones with you, which I found irritating sufficient to avoid this capability preventing inconvenience carrying mobile devices.

The manufacturer states energy storage maintains over one thousand full charge cycles with at least 80% of its original capacity and can be replaced at £95 cost.
